How do I setup a filter in Outlook? Filtering email in Outlook (or whatever email program you use) is an important part of reducing spam email. Servata maintains a spam filter on our servers, but this filter only marks suspect email as "spam" in the subject line, so in case a "real" email is identified as spam, you can still retrieve it.

Therefore, even if you set spam filtering on your email addresses on the Servata server, you still need to set up a filter in your email program to set aside emails marked as spam (you can put them in a spam folder that you create or already have in Outlook, or you can make Outlook automatically delete them for you). Here's how:

Please note that you should choose "Move message based on content" on the 2nd screen of the Rule Wizard, and you should make sure to either move the message to a specified folder (the spam folder you've setup), delete it, or dpermanently delete it. Hit Statistics Hit Statistics give you an idea of how much traffic is coming to your site, how many pages have been vierwed, how many visitors have visited, what pages they've seen, and what search engines they used to get their.

To view Hit Statistics
To view Hit Statstics:

  1. Login
  2. Click the Reports button
  3. Click the Hit Stats button
  4. Enter the date range on the right
  5. Clcik the Go button next to the top section for Hit Stats
  6. The system takes a few seconds to calculate the Total Hits
  7. There are more than 20 different statistics that can be calculated for any date range
  8. After each statistic is calculated click the next Go button
  9. To start over with a new date range, click the button that says "Change Date range and Reset Displayed Statsr"

Setting up Email Account in Outlook
Although you can easily setup email accounts on the Servata server using the process outlined above, you still need to set them up in Outlook (or whatever email program you use on your computer). To setup email accounts in Outlook:

  1. In Outlook, click Tools | Accounts
  2. Click Add | Mail
  3. Enter all your information as you normally would screen by screen
  4. For POP server, use mail.yourdomain.com (use your own domain name, starting with mail. instead of www.)
  5. For your username, enter your entire email address (like you@yourdomain.com)
  6. For your password, enter the password for your email address (you made it up when you created your email account)

Webmail
Like Yahoo and Google, Servata gives you complete Webmail service, so you can check and send emails from any computer with a browser. To use Webmail:

  1. Login
  2. Click Services
  3. Click the Webmail link.
  4. When the Webmail screen appears, enter your entire email address as your username, then enter your email account password, then enter your email address again.
  5. You can now review all your emails, and send and receive.
